First off...pardon our tardiness!

One of our absolute favorite things to do to end off the summer is take in the sights at the U.S. Open, in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens, New York! It’s the best time!! Over the years we were lucky enough to catch matches by some of the greats!! Federer, both Williams sisters and more! On September 3rd, we watched Venus Williams defeat Suárez Navarro, but the big winner at this year’s U.S. Open was Sloan Stevens!! Just six weeks ago Stevens was ranked 957th in the world!! So if you didn’t know her before, you should now!! We cant wait to see more from Sloan in the future!

RJ: The Louis Vuitton-Supreme collab craze!

Fashion, Art, LifestyleRebound JunkieComment

Big brands are the highlight of the fashion industry and Louis Vuitton is one of the most adored names out there. So, when Louis Vuitton announced its collaboration with Supreme, naturally fans went crazy in anticipation. The collection was named the biggest streetwear-crossed-with-high-fashion collab of all time since it was unveiled at Paris fashion week. Earlier the pieces were only available for preorder, but this was about to change.

Lois Vuitton announced the list of its pop-ups including those in London, Paris, Miami, Los Angeles, Tokyo, and Beijing. This was enough to send the fans into a frenzy, with a worldwide stampede to look at the pop ups close up. The queues are extraordinary with people waiting for up to 20 hours on end for the pop ups and a chance to get their hands on the Supreme collaboration.

The crowds were crazy the queues were everlasting and those who were lucky enough to get their hands on some pieces were quickly ushered out of the way to prevent stirring up disappointment. The story wasn’t over yet though, people lined just outside the store to resale the pieces at much higher prices. This part really gave the brand a bad image. It was something that the Vuitton retailers had not foreseen and many stood helpless as money exchanged hands for pieces at a much higher rate than original.

Nevertheless, it really was a festival as people lined up all over the world to get their hands on some highly fashionable streetwear from one of the most iconic collaborations in the world. However, just days after the opening, many popups started to close down. Reportedly, numerous boutiques in France and United States were closed well before their due date. Reporters claim that the pop ups simply sold out and did not have any more pieces for customers, leaving them dismayed and empty handed.

Although no official statement about the closure has been released yet, it seems that the prime reason is a shortage of articles. Meanwhile, items have appeared on numerous third party sites for prices much higher than the original and the rates are still climbing. A single silk screen T-shirt was put up for 1600$, almost 3 times its original price. Clearly, many crazy fans are still approaching these non-authentic sellers for a piece of the collab, however, most are left empty handed.

In short, the Louis Vuitton and Supreme collab has hit the Millennials and the desire to own a piece is driving everyone crazy. It’s unexpected why the pop ups closed suddenly, but many are still in the hope of a reopening and some Louis Vuitton-supreme glam. The pieces speak for themselves with extraordinary quality and the added flair of sporty Millennials. We hope that Louis Vuitton reopens the sales. A huge crowd of people are ready for the slightest hint to create those long queues once again.
